The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) program
is based on planned clinical encounters in which a physical medicine
and rehabilitation resident interviews, examines, informs, or otherwise
interacts with a standardized patient (SP). SPs are individuals who
are scripted andrehearsed to portray an actual patient with a specific
set of symptoms or clinical findings. SPs may be able-bodied individuals
or actual patients with stable findings.
